How do I get to Epworth?
We are located just off I-565 at the top of Chapman Mountain right where I-565 turns into Hwy 72 on Epworth Drive. A portion of Epworth Drive runs parallel to I-565.
Coming from 72 (East of Huntsville)
If you are coming from east Madison County on Hwy 72 back towards Huntsville, the easiest way to get to Epworth is to turn continue on Hwy 72 past Moores Mill Road and take a left onto Epworth Drive near the top of Chapman Mountain. Epworth Drive will veer right and take you right to the church.
Alternatively, you may also wish to turn left (south) at the intersection of Moores Mill Road and Highway 72. Just follow the road up over the mountain keeping I-565 on your right and Epworth will be on your left.
Coming from I-65
If you are coming from the west on I-565, the easiest way to get to Epworth is to continue on I-565 until it turns into Hwy 72. At the top of Chapman Mountain, quickly after I-565 turns into Hwy 72, turn right onto Epworth Drive. Epworth Drive will veer right and take you right to the church.
Alternatively, you can also take Exit 21 (Hwy 72 Exit) and then make a U turn at the light and veer right to Epworth Drive. The church will be on your right.
Coming from Hwy 72 / Sparkman Drive (from West)
If you’re coming from Huntsville on Sparkman Drive (Hwy 72), continue East (towards Huntsville, away from Madison) on Sparkman and as Sparkman Drive ends, you can merge right onto Epworth Drive (just follow the signs). Not far ahead on your right will be the church.
Coming from Moores Mill Road
If you’re coming from Moores Mill Road, cross Hwy 72 and take a left where Moores Mill Road dead ends. Take the road up the mountain and near the top of the mountain, take a left onto Epworth Drive. Continue on Epworth Drive, which will take you right by the church.
Or you can take a right onto Hwy 72 and then make a left onto Epworth Drive or take exit 21 and then left and follow signs to Epworth Drive.
Turning from Epworth Drive left onto Hwy 72/I-565 or right from Hwy 72/I-565 onto Epworth Drive, especially during high traffic times can be difficult and even dangerous. You may wish to consider some of the alternative routes above that don’t require turning across traffic on Hwy 72/I-565 at Epworth Drive; there is no stoplight at this intersection.
