The children of Epworth are known as the GNIRPS and are always ready to have new friends join in! The term “GNIRPS” came about when the children were putting “WELCOME SPRING” on the window of their Children’s Church room. “WELCOME” turned out correctly, but “SPRING” went up backwards so that when we looked at it from the other side they’d spelled “WELCOME GNIRPS!” We decided to keep it as the group name and have some fun with it. Get involved in Children’s Ministries at Epworth and you, too, can be a GNIRPS!
Join us for Sunday School at 9:00 am:
- pre-K, Room #303 (Frogs Room) with Judy Fiske and Buffie Clickner as teachers
- K – 2nd grade, Room #309 (Zebra Room) with Emilie Ward and Ashley Colbert as teachers
- 3rd – 5th grade, Room 210 with teachers Melanie Skipworth and Russ Ward as teachers
Worship begins at 10:15, during which a Children’s Moment if offered and after which the children leave the sanctuary for Children’s Church in the GNIRPS Room, #211. This is for children 4 years old through 5th grade.
The vision of our Children’s Ministry is that children begin to understand how much God loves them, and that is the focus of activities, messages, videos, crafts, songs, Bible study, and play that happen during Children’s Church.
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the door frames of your houses and gates.” Deuteronomy 6:4-9
